Born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba,
Kristen has always been fascinated by and active in art

Art provides Kristen with an oasis of calm
and is an escape from all the commotion around her.
Painting inspires her to see and appreciate the world
for its simple beauty.

Kristen paints subjects she loves,
places that make her feel good
and things that make her smile.

Subject matter dictates medium, but plein air
has resulted in oil being the medium of choice.
She enjoys its energy, boldness of colour
and the strength of individual brush strokes.

Years of classes at Swinton's have provided her
with the perfect environment to grow as an artist
surrounded by like-minded individuals who generously share
their experience and expertise.
She regularly partakes in local art shows,
workshops and plein air excursions.
She sincerely hopes her paintings project her enthusiasm
